A- What is the functions of blood?

1. The blood transports Oxygen as oxy hemoglobin from the
lungs to the blood cells and returns carbon dioxide from
the cells to the lungs for excretion.

2. The blood is the means whereby all nourishment is
transported to the cells.

3. Acts as a Vehicle: The blood transports hormones and
enzymes from their place of origin to their target organs
and tissues (place of activity).

4. Drainage of Waste Products: The blood removes all waste
products from the tissues and cells. These waste products
are transported to the appropriate organs for excretion
lungs, kidney’s, intestine, skin etc.

5. Blood Clotting: By the mechanism of clotting, loss of
blood cells and body fluids is prevented.

6. Regulation of body temperature: Blood helps to maintain the
body temperature by distributing the heat produced by the
chemical activity of the cells evenly, throughout the body.

7. Defense actions: The blood aids in the defense of the body
against the invasion of micro-organisms and their toxins.

B- How many types of blood we have?

1- Platelets, which help the blood to clot. Clotting stops the
blood from flowing out of the body when a vein or artery is
broken. Platelets are also called thrombocytes. Red blood
cells, which carry oxygen.

2- Red blood cells are the most plentiful. In fact, a healthy
adult has about 35 trillion of them. The body creates these
cells at a rate of about 2.4 million a second, and they
each have a life span of about 120 days. Red blood cells
are also called erythrocytes.

3- White blood cells, which ward off infection. These cells,
which come in many shapes and sizes, are vital to the
immune system. When the body is fighting off infection, it
makes them in ever-increasing numbers. Still, compared to
the number of red blood cells in the body, the number of
white blood cells is low. Most healthy adults have about
700 times as many red blood cells as white ones. White
blood cells are also called leukocytes.

C- How many types of transfusion do we have?

Types of Blood Transfusions
Blood is transfused either as whole blood (with all its parts) or, more often, as individual parts. The type of blood transfusion you need depends on your situation.
For example, if you have an illness that stops your body from properly making part of your blood, you may need only that part to treat the illness.

1-Red Blood Cell Transfusions

Red blood cells are the most commonly transfused part of the blood. These cells carry oxygen from the lungs to your body’s organs and tissues. Red blood cells also help your body get rid of carbon dioxide and other waste products.
You may need a transfusion of red blood cells if you’ve lost blood due to surgery or an injury. You also may need this type of transfusion if you have severe anemia (uh-NEE-me-uh) due to a disease or blood loss.
Anemia is a condition in which your blood has a lower than normal number of red blood cells. Anemia also can occur if your red blood cells don’t have enough hemoglobin (HEE-muh-glow-bin)
Hemoglobin is an iron-rich protein that gives blood its red color. This protein carries oxygen from the lungs to the rest of the body.

2- Platelet and Clotting Factor Transfusions

Platelets and clotting factors help stop bleeding, including internal bleeding that you can’t see. Some illnesses can prevent your body from making enough platelets or clotting factors. If you have one of these illnesses, you might need regular platelet or clotting factor transfusions to stay healthy.
For example, if you have hemophilia (heem-o-FILL-ee-ah), you may need a special clotting factor to replace the clotting factor you’re lacking. Hemophilia is a rare, inherited bleeding disorder in which the blood doesn’t clot normally.
If you have hemophilia, you may bleed for a longer time than others after an injury or accident. You also may bleed internally, especially in the joints (knees, ankles, and elbows).

3- Plasma Transfusions

Plasma is the liquid part of your blood. It’s mainly water, but it also contains proteins, clotting factors, hormones, vitamins, cholesterol, sugar, sodium, potassium, calcium, and more.
If you have been badly burned or have liver failure or a severe infection, you may need a plasma transfusion.

How does the blood transfusion save life’s?

Blood transfusion saves life by replacing the type of blood that was lacking in our body due to the loss of blood or when suffering from anemia. Another example is women produce plenty of white blood cells when nursing their babies to boost the baby immune system and to fight infections.

Did God foresaw that men would use blood transfusion to safe life?

Yes. Even though there was no transfusion when the Bible was written, God is able to foresee the future.

That was why he did not forbid the use of blood transfusion in the Bible. For example, He allows women to nurse their babies with breast milk which contains white blood cells. Medical professionals confirmed the benefits of nursing a new-born with breast milk.

Did God forbid blood transfusion to safe life? NO! He did not. Because our God knows all things and none of his prophets forbid humans from saving live’s through blood transfusion.

How does the pagan nations use and ate blood?

The Pagan Nations around the world usually strangled the neck of their sacrificial animals or birds and drink their blood. They don’t practice bleeding of games. Some people safe animal blood in a baking pan and after baking it, they use it as food.

What is the difference between blood transfusion and eating of blood?

Blood Transfusion:

Blood transfusion is when blood is transfuse directly into systemic systems(veins and arteries). It carries oxygen, nutrients, enzymes and hormones to their target organs and remove carbon dioxide and by products of cells activities through lungs and skins.

Eating of blood:

Eating of blood entail strangulation of animals and birds and drinking their blood. Some people baked blood and use as food and eat it by mouth or by peg tube. It goes through digestive system. It is excreted as waste products through anus.

What is God’s view about the eating of blood?

God has a dietary laws for the Jews against the eating of blood.
The pagan nations practices of not bleeding a game and strangle the neck of sacrificial animals show lack of respect for the lives of those games. The lives of every creature is in its blood. The blood carry circulatory gases – oxygen and carbon dioxide. That was why God forbid the eating of blood. In Leviticus 7:26-27 God says,”And YOU must not eat any blood in any places where YOU dwell, whether that of fowl or that of beast. 27 Any soul who eats any blood, that soul must be cut off from his people.’”

Leviticus 17:13-15 says,”‘As for any man of the sons of Israel or some alien resident who is residing as an alien in YOUR midst who in hunting catches a wild beast or a fowl that may be eaten, he must in that case pour its blood out and cover it with dust. 14 For the soul of every sort of flesh is its blood by the soul in it. Consequently I said to the sons of Israel: “YOU must not eat the blood of any sort of flesh, because the soul of every sort of flesh is its blood. Anyone eating it will be cut off.”

The punishment for eating blood is in verse 15

15 As for any soul that eats a body [already] dead or something torn by a wild beast, whether a native or an alien resident, he must in that case wash his garments and bathe in water and be unclean until the evening; and he must be clean.

So what does cutting off means? Read verse 15 again. Be unclean until evening.

The early Christian uphold the sacredness of blood.

Act 15:29
29 to keep abstaining from things sacrificed to idols and from blood and from things strangled and from fornication. If YOU carefully keep yourselves from these things, YOU will prosper. Good health to YOU!”

Matthew 15:11. Jesus says,
11 “Not what enters into [his] mouth defiles a man; but it is what proceeds out of [his] mouth that defiles a man.”

If the punishment for eating blood is BE UNCLEAN UNTIL EVENING, why then should a sane Christian kill themselves in the name of loyalty to ones religion?
Higher Education is expensive but ignorance will cost you your lives.

Isaiah 5:13 says,”13 Therefore my people will have to go into exile for lack of knowledge; and their glory will be famished men, and their crowd will be parched with thirst.

However, we must point out that, all human efforts to safe lives through blood transfusion carries some risks of contaminated blood, mismatched blood type and risk of infections. Therefore, blood transfusion should be used when it is absolutely necessary and after seeking the second opinion of medical professionals.

As you can read from the above materials, God intentions was to preserve the sacredness of life; because blood transport gases or life force into our circulatory system. Violation of this dietary law carries the penalty of cutting-off which means BE UNCLEAN UNTIL EVENING.

The question is wOuld a loving God destroy people who want to preserve the sacredness of their lives through blood transfusion?

If you reject blood transfusion based on your religious parochial believes and you die, Jehovah and Jesus can charge you for murder.

Yes. Jehovah God and Jesus can charge an adult who refused blood transfusion for murder because it not God intention to destroy lives for respecting life. In cases whereby a parent make the decision for a child not to accept blood transfusion and if child should die, the State should charge the parent for murder. Children should not endangered for unreasonable decision of their parents.

Those religion that impose their parochial doctrine of equalizing blood eating with blood transfusion does so at their own peril.

For example, those who made choice of accepting blood transfusion has been disfellowshipped and shunned and in some cases, the family have been separated and destroyed. This harsh punishment for accepting a medical treatment involving blood transfusion have gone beyond what is written in the Bible.

Leviticus 17: 15 Let the person be Unclean until evening and this does not mean disfellowshipped and shunning.

Jehovah did not impose such heartless punishment on anyone.

Those who made the law forbidding blood transfusion have nothing to lose. After many years misleading their members, their new light, lit-up. You can now safe your love ones with a fraction of blood. That is the clever way of admitting that they have been wrong for too long. What does a fraction of blood means?

If the whole blood = red + white. + platelet. What is a fraction of blood?

Is it a fraction of red blood/ (over )platelet and white blood? It sound to me like chicken is forbidding but you can eat the thigh. A critical thinking person will know that eating the chicken thigh is as good as eating the whole chicken.
This is one example of not owning up to one’s responsibilities of being wrong for too long and they want safe their faces or is a case of clever manipulation.

Jesus Witness Ministry is using this article to educate the readers to assist them to make an inform decision based on Godly views about blood transfusion and medical benefits of saving lives though blood. The writer is writing from a personal experience. Don’t be fooled by religion fanaticism who have little or nothing to lose after killing your own love ones. A word is enough for the wise.

In summary, God did not forbid blood transfusion in the Bible. The reason why Yahweh forbade the eating of blood, was to preserve sanctity of LIFE because blood transport oxygen and to remove carbon dioxide from the systemic system. The punishment for eating animal killed by strangulation, found dead or sacrifice to idol is to remain unclean until evening and then be clean. Read Leviticus 17:15. The heartless disfellowshipped and shunning of members as enacted by the Watchtower Printing Organization is ungodly misapplication
Of the Scriptures. Our God is LOVE. He is a God of freedom. His power of Holy Spirit is capable of helping any believer who seek assistance to overcome life challenges.
