The Day of The Lord. The Last Days
What does the day of the Lord means? What are its implications for the present world? What shall you do to be safe?
The day of the Lord means different things to differet people. Some people the day of the Lord is not in their vocabulary nor in their sermons.
This morning I will invite three people, such as, Prophets Isaiah, Jesus the Christ and the Apostles Peter and the Holy Spirit to educate us about the Lord’s day.
Prophet Isaiah predicts the day of the Lord by saying:
“Lift up your eyes to the heavens, And look on the earth beneath.
For the heavens will vanish away like smoke, The earth will grow old like a garment, And those who dwell in it will die in like manner; But My salvation will be forever, And My righteousness will not be abolished.”
Isaiah 51:6
And Jesus says,
“And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.”
“Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.”
Luke 21:25-27,33
Also Apostles Peter says,
“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.”
II Peter 3:10-13 NKJV
The Biblical principles was that out two or three Witnesses the Truth will be established.
Prophet ISAIAH prophesied about the last days. Jesus, the Christ predicted about his 2nd coming, and Apostles Peter were all agreed about the coming of the Lords day and what will follow it.
From these three accounts the Day of the Lord is Real. This is not a joke. It is not a metaphor. It is not a symbolic statement but real.
What should you and I learn from this information? Some people have the complacent attitude of wait and see. That attitude is like a cripple person saying, when I see the war coming, then I will run for protection. My friend it will be too late for that crippled man to tell the story of the war.
What do we learn and what shall we do?
Apostles John Answered these questions by saying,
“And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.”
I John 2:17
Since the world is passing away, the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.
The questions is, is it logical to embrace the world and idolized the materials things and the glory of this world that is passing away?
Actually, it is most tragic for a person to accumulate riches in this dying world. The spirit of materialism have blinded many to see the fulfillment God’s words.
The question is, what will happen to all the numerous properties you have greedily acquired? They will become useless. Think about this.
The good news is, God is creating a new Heavens and a new earth.
Only the righteous will be allowed to live forever.
What does the word new Earth means to you? To the Watchtower Society the new world is a paradise earth. To the secret societies the new world means the new world order.
However, Apostles Peter and the prophets the new world means a new creation. Only the righteous will be allowed to reside in the new world. There will be no chance to repent of your sins. Prophets Isaiah says,
Let grace be shown to the wicked, Yet he will not learn righteousness; In the land of uprightness he will deal unjustly, And will not behold the majesty of the LORD.”
Isaiah 26:10 NKJV
For this reason only the righteous, the Holy and those who fear God will be allowed to live there.
What can you do as from today?
The starting point is practicing how to be righteous by
1. Speaking the truth at all time. In other words, stop lying. Lying is the language of the Devil and the Lucifer. Pastor Ariyo says, a liar has changed his fatherhood from God to Satan. Read John 8:44
2. Eat the words of God like food because it live forever. The Heavens and Earth shall pass away but the word of God remains forever. Luke 21:33
3. Be peaceful with all men and be Holy; without which no one can see God.
4. Bears the fruits of Holy Spirit such as, Love, joy, peace, endurance, kindness, goodness’s, Faithfulness and self control.Gal. 5:22-23
5. Shunning all the works of the flesh. Such as, bitterness, wrath, idolatry, witchcraft and so on. Galatians 5:19-21
In conclusion, since the day of the Lord will come like a thief, let us change our teaching to the words of God that lives forever. Let us learn Holiness by speaking the truth at all times. Since the world is passing away let us devote our time to serve God without hypocrisy.
